Synopsis

Itzel, a young girl of Mayan descent, is on a camping trip with her Stargazing father deep in the jungle. After wandering off and getting lost, Itzel stumbles across a captive Jaguar. Freeing it, Itzel is pursued by a furious Poacher and discovers a lost Mayan city while running from him. Exploring the city, Itzel experiences a vision of the city at the height of its glory and a spirit guide resembling the Jaguar she freed called Balam. Balam explains Itzel’s Mayan heritage to her and shows her how to read the stars to plot a way out of the jungle.
